Wrapping up 2009!

What can I say? Another year has passed and it was a good one! Lots of things to be thankful for! We celebrated Preston's first birthday, got wonderful news of another boy on the way, we finished lots of projects on the house and I finally graduated! Here are a few pictures of what we've been up doing in the last month of 2009.

I realized that one of the perks of being a teacher is that I get to spend really nasty snow days at home with my buddies!

We got to play in the snow a few days after our 6-8 inch snowfall.

This was Preston's first time in the snow! All I can say is "looked like a tick ready to pop!"

He really liked it and loved sledding!

Smiled the whole time!

I smiled the whole time too!

We made messes...
but helped clean them up!
Christmas came and we had to get creative with the tree placement!

Preston was really into the decorations! He now runs up to trees, screams oooooooooooooh, and then says pretty! You can tell he wants to touch it so bad. He knows he's not supposed too.

Preston really liked his fire truck from Gpa and Gma AZ.

He's been riding ever since.

He wasn't as into unwrapping presents as he was into wanting to destroy the trees. Once the gifts were open he was excited to play with them!

All he wanted to do Christmas morning was cover up the mysterious packages with his blanket and climb on them.

So with a little help from mom and dad, he got them open and got to play with them!

Relaxing after opening his gifts on his new bean bag chair from Great Grandpa Glenn and Great Grandma Kippy!

Trying on his new hat from Nana!
Well that sums up our December and our 2009! We hope 2010 brings health and happiness to all our family and friends!
Happy New Year!

Oh Boy!

That's right we're having another boy! Preston will be a good big brother and hopefully he will be ready to share in time! For now he is making life crazy for mom and dad who are starting to wonder what it is going to be like with two silly boys in the house. Watch out for the Nelson Boys! Preston is now climbing onto everything! Occasionally we catch him on the kitchen table and my new favorite sitting on the arms of the couch. When he is not doing that he is taking all the toys out of his playroom, pulling every book out of his organizer and tearing up the house in general. Ladies and Gentlemen we have now reached toddler hood! It is amusing, fun and brings us much joy though we have learned to cherish bedtime:)

Here are some new pictures. I tried to scan a picture of our new addition but for some reason my scanner is working. I'll try at a later date.

Preston just before a climb and his first big boy haircut!

and here he is after his hair cut. I still need to get the actual hair cut picture from my friend (Mommy forgot the camera:( but I think I'll be forgiven)

I guess with all boys in the house I should get used to pictures like this. This is Jeremy's deer that filled our freezer with meat! Yay!

I love this picture it's Preston with his cousin Ava playing and I am sure they sounded like two musical geniuses!

Another couple of fun pictures from our Thanksgiving visit from the City Nelson's!

They crack me up!

Lastly this is Jeremy getting ready to mail out my first resume. Does he look happy? Graduation is just one week away! It's been a long 3 1/2 years!

Happy Halloween!

I have to apologize, I've been slacking on the pictures lately. We have been scrambling around getting the last bits of my student teaching done and my computer time is spent doing school work. Preston is doing well and we have been having a lot of fun watching him master walking forwards, backwards and sideways on occasion! He says hi and hey a lot.
Over Halloween weekend we went to spend a few days with the City Nelson's for Miss Ava's birthday! It was a lot of fun. On Saturday we went to the Magic House, which is a children's museum full of really fun things to do! The kids got to wear their costumes and play all afternoon! Then Sunday we celebrated Ava's first birthday. Here are some pictures of our fun weekend and of our pumpkin carvings!

Not real crazy about the insides of the pumpkin!

My little monkey checkin out Curious George!

Monkey Boy!

Ava was a cute little piggy!

Happy first birthday sweet Ava!

Growing

Preston is growing so much these days! Since he has started walking he seems to have grown a few inches (maybe that's because we have a different view of him). Ruby also has grown and tripled in size since we have gotten her. She is feeling just fine after her run in with some rat poison. She is making a full recovery and we now know how and what the dogs are getting into and it shouldn't happen again. And since we are talking about growing, our family is growing too. Yes in April of 2010, Preston will be a big brother! So this means I too will be growing! We are so excited for our new addition. Hope everyone has a fantastic fall!

We put this shirt on Preston to surprise our mom's!

I really need to figure out the settings on my camera but you get the idea!

The Rest of August and Most of September

Well its been a while since I have updated the blog. So sorry for those of you anxiously waiting for new pictures and updates. We have been really busy now that I am back to school and still working a few nights a week. Any free time I have is spent with Preston, cleaning and sleeping!
Preston is 15 months now and he is finally walking!!! Yay!! Other than that nothing really new to report. Here are some pictures of the rest of August and most of September. Enjoy!
We thought we would try out the zoo again a few weekends ago.
He loved it! It was so much fun to watch him. He looked at all the animals this time and he even liked the carousal.

We went to thy annual Capp's family reunion over Labor Day weekend. We don't have a lot of pictures from that weekend because it rained a lot and Preston was not a very happy camper:( He was getting a few more teeth and was not happy that he couldn't play outside. He and cousin Ava did get to enjoy some wagon time on Sunday.

They were so cute!

And here it is the moment you've all been waiting for...

Trip to Nana's House

Preston and I took a trip to Nana's house last week and it was quite an adventure! It was the first time Preston had been away from home and daddy for 5 days. Overall he did really well on the 7 hour drive and he had a lot of fun on his vacation to Nana's house. Here are some pics of the week.

Overall favorite was swimming!

Blue Bunny Ice Cream Shop! Preston loved his ice cream and had the worst night of sleep ever! He was up almost 2 hours past bed time and he had quite the sugar buzz! Here he is seen sitting next to his ice cream treat!

Hannah and Lilly built him lots of block castles so that he could tear them down! It was fun to spend time with his cousins.

It's hard to sleep when it's still light out so Preston figured out how to solve that problem!

Enjoying Mommy Time

Well just in time for the weather to get really hot, Mommy has to go back to school. Student teaching starts in just a few short weeks. This is exciting because I will graduate in just a few short months! I will miss my little buddy though. We have enjoyed our summer together and we will enjoy many more summers together too. I keep reminding myself that I am very lucky to get to spend this much time with him and that love a profession that allows me to be with my son a lot! Well on to the fun pictures!

Mommy and Preston snuggling!

The City Nelson's came to visit us a few weeks ago. Preston and Ava spent lots of time in the toy room playing!

Preston and his good buddy Lennon at Wild Life Prairie Park

Preston thought he'd give Lennon a ride. He showed his super baby strength pushing him across the thick carpet.

Mommy and Daddy have been spending lots of evenings at the park.

Preston playing with my second cousins, Hannah and Emma, from Colorado at a family reunion.

And we are seeing some progress in Ruby and Preston's relationship! Yes that is a smile on his face! I think they will be good friends.

Ruby snuggled up! She is quite the pup and she is finding her place in our family.

A Country Nelson's Summer

We have been so busy this summer and we haven't left the house! Jeremy and I have a list of projects to do that extends over the next 5 years and this summer we had a list of 16 items to complete! We have finished all but 3! Included on the list was to finish siding and putting new electric garage doors in the garage, put the new pool up, and actually get a garden in! Those jobs and several other small things are finished and we added train a new puppy to the list;) (or I added that) Next summer there are several other projects that are added to the list but they are much bigger! A covered porch and deck around the pool is on the list. Let's hope we are as successful as we were with this summer's projects.

Here are a few new pictures of some of our projects and every one's reason for visiting this blog, Preston.

The garage! I love the new doors!! No more barn doors:)

The pool and Preston enjoying the pool! Thank you Papaw and Grammy for the way cool float. It is awesome.

Zucchini plant in the garden.

Up to no good!

Always fun!

Mommy does have time to cook nice meals! One of the many perks of having most of my nights off!

Still want what the other one has! We'll get there.
