Summer Fun!

Well it's actually summer! Hot humid perfect weather for swimming. We've been doing a lot lately:) Preston also got a new sprinkler which is tons of fun! Isaac is getting so big and we'll be 3 months old tomorrow! At his two month check-up he weighed 13.8 lbs!!!! So I imagine him to be around 15lbs by now! He's smiling so much now and is so close to laughing! He gives a little giggle but not the belly laughs yet. Preston is slowly showing more interest in him. He tickles his feet a lot and sometimes he'll rub his head. They are so different, it will be interesting to see how they get along when they're older. Here are some fun summer pictures.

Happy 2nd Birthday Preston!!

Summer has arrived early this year which has been great for playing outside and we've even been able to get into the pool a few times already! We were also able to have Preston's birthday party outside:) He had a blast! He was still not real into opening the gifts but he was all about stealing sips of everyone's lemonade and eating his birthday cake. He was wound up after all that sugar! Here are some pictures of his party and some other summer fun.

We'll start with some pictures of Isaac. He is almost 2 months old!

We have the same picture of Preston on this blog! I'll have to look and see if they look alike in it!

Isaac Dean Nelson

So sorry it has been sooo long since I have posted anything on the blog. I've been cheating and posting pictures elsewhere as it is much faster. However when my boys are older and look back at their mother's blogs, I want Isaac to know how excited we were to meet him and that he is very important to us too! So I am posting more than a months worth of Country Nelson news:) Lets start by saying that the last few months were not easy. I was on bed rest for over two months because of pre-term labor at 33 weeks. I continued to have contractions for the entire two months with very little progress being made. In my quest to have a VBAC, I held firm and didn't give in to having a c-section at 38 weeks. I decided that I wanted to know that I had done everything I could to have him naturally so I wouldn't look back and think what if. At my 4o week appointment, I decided to tell my doctor that if I went past 42 weeks I would schedule a c-section as I didn't want to put the baby in danger. Before I could tell him this he decided that he was going to put me on a low dose of pitocin if I was willing. He normally doesn't induce VBAC's but he felt strongly that I would be a good candidate and knowing my doctor I trusted that he would keep me safe.So Tuesday April 13th at 7:00am, Jeremy and I happily went to the hospital ready for our adventure! I was put on the pitocin right away. Around noon my doctor came in and broke my water and from there on out lets just say I was miserable:( 7 more hours of hard labor and I had only dilated 1/2 a centimeter! Ya I was disappointed to say the least. I went in dilated 1 centimeter and I wasn't even close after 12 hours of pitocin. I threw in the towel and about half an hour later was taken in to surgery. While in the operating room my doctor delivered Isaac and said, "I don't think you would have been able to deliver him naturally!" He was 9lbs 7oz! 20 inches long but healthy and we were both safe. Every bit of doubt and guilt I felt for not sticking it out was taken away. I really felt I made the right decision. They had also found a rupture in the outer layer of my bladder while in surgery. Something they never would have found had I delivered naturally and something that could have caused me lots of problems in the future. Isaac is a good baby. He is a good eater and sleeps well at night. He is very alert during the day and takes it all in. Here are some pictures of our newest addition. we feel truly blessed for our boys and are happy to complete our family.
The last picture taken of the belly. It was big that's for sure but it was filled with a lot of baby!

Isaac's completed room. He hasn't slept in it yet but will soon:)

Preston just looks like a big brother in this picture.

My first look at my sweet Isaac.

Jeremy and I remembered to take the camera in with us so we got lots of pictures.

I thought this was pretty neat!

Pure Delight!

We've been doing a lot of sledding and running outside this past week. We quickly realized that we will need to fence in an area in our backyard for Preston this summer. He moves very quick and with his new brother we thought it might make it easier on mom and dad if we could just let him run while we watch. We are getting so excited to meet our new addition and looking forward to a fun filled summer. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with our swimming time this year:)

And were off....

This is pure delight!
